  • Omakase II

    Inatei Japanese Cuisine

    Presentation: 5/5
    Taste: 5/5
    Portion: 4/5
    Atmosphere: 5/5

Sunomono Salad: Fresh squid, octopus, surf calm, konnyaku, kelp in a nice, light sauce

Conch soup: basically miso soup with conch meat. The presentation is nice but the soup can be better if broth is made from fresh conch meat.

Cucumber Roll, Hamachi sashimi, fish liver: all very yummy. I like the little bottle of tangy soya sauce that goes with the hamachi

Foie Gras Sushi: Absolutely melts in your mouth! Very delicious! This was the highlight of the meal along with the sashimi shown now.

Sashimi: Hamachi Belly (very fresh), Semachi (maybe spelled wrong), Scallop (very very fresh), Salmon Roe (very fresh), Uni (fresh but kind of metallic taste to me still). I enjoyed the Hamachi belly and scallop sashimi because they are extremely fresh. Also, I must mention that the wasabi is made from grated wasabi horseradish rather than the paste from the powder. This makes the experience more authentic.

Grapefruit Jelly: to cleanse the palate before the cooked food courses. Very refreshing and non-artifiicial

Angus Beef with garlic, egg wrapped with roe and imitation crab, spinach with bonito, chawanmushi with scallop

I like the beef, egg wrap and chawanmushi because they are pretty simple dish but made very delicious

Unagi okonomiyaki and Toro rice burger (forgot the Japanese name of it): both are very yummie

This dessert ended the meal very nicely:

Green Tea cheesecake, Black Sesame Ice Cream and Tofu Cheesecake

They are all made with a lot of real ingredients and very delicious

  • Babu

Had some really good Indian take-out with loafy on the weekend at Babu

When you walk in, you will see two main sections:
    1. Express : snacks, wide selection of dessert, fried foods like samosa and baked goods.
    2. Open Kitchen: rice, many kinds of curries

We ordered a Lumprice (rice and curries wrapped in a big banana leave).

     Mutton / Chicken / Beef 5 Veg.Curries, Egg Plant Pickle, Sprats, ................................................... $7.45

We picked mutton curry, 5 veggie curry (paneer, potatoe, mushroom, and others which I forgot). It even came with curry smelt fish and a piece of king fish.  It was like 3 pounds of food! The taste is pretty good and spicy. We couldn't finish all of it as it was a lot of food.

We also ordered butter chicken special with 2 naan. The butter chicken is not too creamy like other places .. it tastes more authentic that way.

I give high ratings to Babu!

  • We are eating pie!

Autumn means enjoying things like applie cider, pumpkin spiced latte or conversely some homemade apple and pumpkin pie!

Following last week's apple pie, you made a delicious pumpkin pie that was enjoyed by everyone! It was the best pumpkin pie I ever had and it wasn't my favourite pie until now The blend of the nutmeg, ginger and pumpkin were just right and yummie!

    Thanks!

  • Bluestone Bistro

A nice ECE/CESA gathering with baby Nicholas, Carol and Dave at Bluestone Bistro!

Chocolate & Mango Mousse Cake for Baby Nicholas!

    Reuben Sandwich with Squash Soup

Thai Chicken Pizza: Sweet soy glazed chicken, shiitake mushrooms, scallions, cilantro, mozzarella cheese on
a chilli oil base, finished with a peanut swirl.

Very yummy pizza! It has a different taste compared to the Pizzaiolo's Thai Pie. The shiitake mushroom makes it very juicy and the chilli oil gives it a kick!

Wild Mushroom & Goat Cheese Quiche: Baby greens with garlic/Dijon vinaigrette.

Boeuf Bourguignonne: Boneless short ribs, pearl onions, smoked bacon, mushrooms, baby carrots, fingerling potatoes and a rich red wine sauce.

This is one of Julia Child's recipes!

Florentine Eggs Benedict: Potato rösti topped with wilted spinach, house-made applewood smoked
salmon, two poached eggs and drizzled with Hollandaise sauce. Served with a toasted English muffin ~

    Omelette Dish

Chicken Brochettes: Pretty big portion! Salad is yummie and Chicken is like good old greek souvlaki

Grilled tender pieces of chicken, peppers and onions and served with tzatziki sauce, rice pilaf and Greek salad.

Bluestone Skillet Homefries tossed with Black Forest ham, cheddar cheese, onions and topped with two eggs any style. Served on a hot skillet with your choice of toast

  • Growing together

It is nice to grow together in many ways - intellectually, emotionally, mentally and spiritually... It sets the mind to be ready for the next stages in life and brings us closer together at level that can only be experienced from within. I look forward to learn and to grow continuously together

  • Miyabi

Celebrating the 0b110 bday dinner together at Miyabi Restaurant

Greens salad with sesame dressing. I like the dressing a lot as it was very tantilizing and flavourful.
The way the veggies was thinly cut also made the salad more enjoyable. It was not a bunch of washed veggies with some mediocre sauce.

    Winter soba
This dish is what I would expect for soba. Not too special because I was able to make something similar at home.

    Chawanmushi 茶碗蒸し
mmm there was fresh shitake mushroom, white mushroom, prawn, chicken with the smooth steam egg in this dish.

Octopus salad with Uni (sea urchin) sauce
Unagi (eel), fresh crab leg, jumbo shrimp sushi
Salmon, tuna, and another fish sashimi

    "Mini" shabu-shabu しゃぶしゃぶ

Matcha 抹茶 and Azuki アズキ aisu kurimu

  • Shoeless Joe's

After an afternoon of standing at the CNE watching the air show, we finally sat down for dinner.

We were all quite hungry and had a good appetite for some heavy food

    Three Cheese Perogies

Usually I wouldn't order perogies because it is too filling with the cheese inside. This wasn't too cheesy which made the dish pretty good.

    Panko Breaded Calamari

Very meaty and crispy calamari ! yum yums!

    Lobster Fettucine

The sauce tastes pretty good and tantalizing. I think they could have used less oil though.

    Rib and Wings Combo

I like the lattice fries! This combo is a pretty good deal with celery and carrot sticks and coleslaw... not just meats.
